General Pump Water Seal Kit | Interpump Water Seal Repair
All high pressure pumps, including General Pumps and Interpump Pumps, will require a water seal replacement sometime during the life of the pump. With the creation of high pressure within the pump head, or pump manifold, the water seals will wear with use, resulting in low operating pressure. Installation of new water seals can correct the issue of low pressure in any pump.
If you find that the brass intermediate ring or brass pressure ring, which houses the high pressure and low pressure water seals, are damaged, we recommend purchase of our COMPLETE water seal repair kits. Damage to the brass rings can sometimes occur with a broken ceramic piston sleeve, as well as foreign particles such as sand or small stones finding their way into the pump head. If the brass rings do not show signs of damage, typically they do not require replacement, and can be reinstalled with new high pressure and low pressure water seals.
